There have been many times where IT folks who are earning good money are always telling people, "get education" and "get certifications". That's how you get into IT. You get education in computer science, engineering, information technology, and then get certifications in particular programming languages or technology. That empowers you to get the well-paying IT jobs. If you don't understand that, then too bad. I can write everything I know, but that won't get you anywhere because you don't have the education or experience to know what to do.
We can tell you how to flip burgers, then you go out and get a job interview. They ask you how to make burgers. You answer them and tell them how to make burgers. Then, they ask you how often you have made burgers, and you'll be like, "I never flipped burgers, I just read how to do it." Then, they are going to shred your resume and then burn it in a fire.

I don't even know how many IT dudes here even have a loft apartment. Are you just daydreaming that IT folks live in swanky loft apartments?

The simplest way to accumulate money is to stop spending it. Sounds simple but it's true. If you have a $500 car note you need to make an extra $6000/year just to pay for it. People work all week to pay for things they don't need and don't make them any better.

Spend money on experiences. It took me a while to believe this but I'm happier going to new places meeting new people than I ever was when i'd buy things and bring them home and share them with no one cuz I lived alone. Or share them with the few people id invite over to listen to my surround sound or look at my TV lol. BORING!

I did this backward. Get a trade first. A(virtually) irreplaceable skill. They exist. I'm a UXO tech. This industry will be around for a long time.

After you get a skill get a degree in something that pays well. You can do art without a degree. You can't be a dr without a degree. That should be the only reason to go to school. You can run a business without a business degree if it's yours.

Oh and finally save your fukking money! I work with guys that take home 6 figures that live check to check. It's stupid. When you save money you have optionality.

I took 7 months off 6 years ago to move to Utah to explore my relationship with my now wife (both black, no CAC alert here lol) . I couldn't do that if I hadn't saved money. This year I'm probably going to take 6 (1.5 months in) months of to learn to code. Optionality is a beautiful thing. Read Nicolas nassim taleb for more info on the subject of optionality and antifragility. His books changed my life.

I downloaded a bunch of the MIT stuff but i still need some Pratt textbook or something on first skim.

Also downloaded the MIT poker course stuff lol.surprised black people dont try make money off poker it's a good hustle.in dc i hang with some of the top black players in the country. Oliver kayende and emory tate when he was grandmaster level. Also alot of chess players were ex prison.
