You can only book Common and the roots so many times lol. It’s time to start booking these 2000’s and 2010s rappers now. How many of them can you realistically book??? Ones that you can afford not Kendrick or Drake and shyt lol. I mean Chubb Rock, Kwame, Young MC, Monie Love or some shyt would give you a decent non profane show, do these people want to see that though?

My wife is an AKA and she’s cracking up about this. I think they had Mint Condition at their conference last year and Morris Day and the Time before that. I get you want to touch on each generation, but you have to know who you’re booking. It doesn’t have to be all R&B artists, but you have to understand that these conferences have AKAs in their 80s there, so you have to know the type of music the artist you’re booking puts out.
