So they’re mad because Trick Daddy did Trick Daddy things? This is the shyt you have to worry about when these rappers get old. There’s not a lot of them that you can book for some shyt like this, then people call the ones who do more family friendly music corny. This is what you’re going to get when you book Trick Daddy for your events :yeshrug:
shyt, what was it, two years ago, Meg Thee Stallion headlined at the Essence Festival? Wifey and I were watching it on Hulu with the captions on (because :flabbynsick: ). shyt was comically vulgar and so far removed from what Essence used to be.

as deep as the AKA network is, you'd think there would be some women they could've booked, or a safer hip-hop act.

Unless there was some wave of South Florida women who became AKA's who finally got some acknowledgement for their existence 30 years later, i don't see how anyone even brought his name into the conversation of available acts.

One day the community's gotta talk about why our successful, upper class members feel they gotta stay attached at the hip with some of the more hood aspects of the culture. I don't see that from any other group.

This is the thing breh, being in a sorority or fraternity doesn't immediately move you into this upper echelon of blacks folk.

These folks have time and time again showed they are not above people who didn't go to college...and many times over that their network did not do them any favors once they graduated.

A lot of them folks are living lies, it just so happens to come with a dance/hand sign and events they can attend.

Generational poverty and disenfranchisement of Black communities forcing them into all manner of hoods..now everyone thinks thats where a majority of Black people reside, so to market something to Black people you need to ghettofy it so it resonates.

It's a good chance that the women who protested him coming to HBCU's for the bone marrow drive in the early 2000's because of the tip drill video are amongst the members in charge of events now.

While being a safe act typically limits your peak as an artist, if you can put together enough hits you'll be able to out-earn most simply on longevity.

someone like Flo-Rida or T Pain would've worked far better.
