Dumb Things You Did as a Kid That Could've Had You Killed

When I was about 12, me and my friends decided to ride the Rolling Thunder roller coaster at Dorney Park in Pennsylvania without putting the chest bars in to a locked position, we just made it look like it was all the way down. The teenagers running the ride never bothered to check make sure it was secure. Luckily for us, there wasn't any loops on that ride, and our dumb asses would all be dead.

And I remember one year at Freaknic in Atlanta, I was riding on the side footstep of a small ass Suzuki 4x4 doing about 60 mph down I-85. My drunk ass wasn't even scared, I was more worried about us catching up to the car of girls that had just passed us.

The worse thing for me was almost getting hit by a car when I was little.

My neighbor had a bunch of family over her house. At one point, she and her cousin was playing catch (tennis ball - velcro pad) and I wanted to play too. They wouldn't let me so I decided to throw myself in the game by retrieving the ball if they missed the pad. There was a driveway that separated both properties so I would stop the ball from going into the street. Needless to say, one ball did make it into the street. My dumbass ran after it even with them yelling at me to leave it alone. I get out in the street with the face. Traffic was heavy at that point but fortunately they stopped.

When I was 12 me and a group of 5 friends rode bikes,frequently.WE always use to ride over the tracks. Until one day a friend dared me and another friend to ride over the tracks when the gate comes down (a train passed by the same time everyday) so we timed it correctly.So one day after school we did it.....scariest thing ever.Good thing the train was a freight train and not one of them fast transit trains...still scary being on the track...the same time a train is 100 feet or so away.

dont remember how old da gawd was but i was in my teens... me my cousin and younger brother went to some white ladies house to go swimming...i figured since we all here then nikkaz knew how to swim... tell my why my cousin jumped in the pool knowing his ass couldnt swim... after a almost a minute of realizing that dude is not coming back up i jumped in to save him... dat boy was soo scared he grabbed onto me like a bytch and we both almost drowned....he grabbed me from the back (pause) and was wrappin up my hands so i couldnt swim or grab onto anything... luckily someone saved us..

I COMPLETELY forgot about my swimming pool incident as a kid .....damn near 20 years later and I'm STILL not ready to go into detail about that. Let's just say I only barely learned how to swim a few years ago as a result.....and I'm still a little afraid of deep water . Before that, you couldn't pay me $1000 to even go near a deep pool, or go out into the water at the beach further than when it reaches my waist

Another tip for parents and parents-to-be: Make sure you stress to your kids at a young age to not try to swim anywhere if they know damn well they can't swim (and unless there's an adult present). Even if y'all ain't living nowhere near a pool or beach, still stress that to them because you never know if they'll go off with some friends to swim somewhere without you knowing. They might feel embarrassed in front of friends because the friends can swim and they can't, and then they'll front and jump in the water, thinking "aight I never did this before, but all I gotta do is jump in and move my arms like them.....how hard can it be? "

i used to take swimming classes when i was like 4-5 at the easter seals place...my mama came to pick me up and i wanted to show off what i learned on the kick board...i thought i was swaggin...i ended up swallowing water and panicking and damn near drowning...the instructor had to come save me

i ended up teaching myself to swim by the time i was like 10

I had an above-ground swimming pool when I was younger and it has this giant blue tarp that you put over the water to keep nasty stuff out when you get out, the tarp is very thick and heavy and covers the whole top of the pool water. It was annoying to fold the tarp up when you want to swim in the pool so me and my friend would go out there and we would swim under the tarp the full length of the pool, if you have to breathe anywhere that isn't the very edge of the pool

could've easily drowned. Especially because me and my friends would go swimming at really odd hours.

when i was in hs was watchin two groups of bad kids get into a rumble type fight in LA, and i decided it was entertaining and i smoked a cigarette and watched.

one of the guys pulls out a gun and starts shooting. for some reason i didnt think to run or anyhting and i just kinda sat there.

years later i realize i couldve easily caught a random bullet or something.

o yea, 1 dude got shot fomr that incident lol. everyone scattered. as i was leaving i saw dude on the curb gettin assistance from police. i think he got shot in the shoulder/arm area.

Yeah, I know how to swim now but I had too many close calls falling to the bottom of the pool when I was younger. Escaped death at my babysitter's house twice.

Other than that, hiking up Yosemite Falls when I was 11 in some converse basketball shoes with NO TRACTION WHATSOEVER. I slipped on the rocks and almost fell off the edge. Two more feet I would've been a goner. Ironically , I was hiking with the same woman that babysitted me who saved me from the pool when I was younger.

My story is weak, compared to y'all, or the other thread

First day of middle school, and I miss the bus. I was deadly shy, so, I didn't say a thing. I could have easily tried to get back inside, but, the outside looked so deserted, that I thought everyone was gone. So I decided to walk home. It had to be around 430 and my house was about 8 miles away.

The danger lied in there only being about 4 miles of sidewalk between my house and school and most the whole way being busy streets (40-50 mph).

Well, i get to a part with no sidewalk. It had had houses and I walked in between the street and the mailboxes, at the end of the driveway. I couldnt have been closer to the passin cars. And then it happened; I get hit by a car's rear view mirror. I just remember doin a 180 spin to the ground, gettin up and holding my elbow.

I walked for about 2 mintues and a family pulled me over. They saw what happened. They asked me where I lived and took me home, told my mom.

Couldve been hit by a car and we know strangers' cars ain't safe.

I was a pyro when I was a kid
It was either a few days after new years or the 4th of july and i only had 1 firework left It was one of those nice ones that shot shyt out well I shot that bytch and it hit off a tree limb and goes flyin into the cow pasture behind my house. That shyt proceeded to explode and catch the field on fire I panic and run to the water hose but that shyt don't reach Soo I have to run get my mom whose in a boot from a broke ankle at the time to help me. She starts fillin up buckets of water and im runnin tryin to put this fire out but the grass is dry as fukk so theres no chance really. So after about 15 min of that shyt we finally called the fire department. They put that shyt out and I didn't get in trouble or nothing but I breathed in so much smoke tryin to put the fire out. shyt wasn't fun for a little 8-9 year old I felt like I was gna die

Also been shot in the face twice by bottle rockets with the stick torn off. Lucky one didnt put my eye out. Also caught a big ass pine tree on fire once, don't remember how I just remember being scared tryin to put that shyt out which I was able to do quickly A lot more stories I can't rememeber But yea I use to love messin with fire/fireworks, glad I grew out of that shyt when I was like 12 woulda probably killed myself

Back in my school days i told one of my class mates i was fuking this bad ass redbone which was a life but a kindhearted one, from another school, he asked to see a picture so i showed him and thought nothing was going to happend well i guess wrong, the next week i come in and this nikka is showing every one my new "girlfriend" now i got nikkas asking me if thats really my girl and im like yeah of course, you know i hit it good they kept on questioning me so im like, look i was with her yesterday she was wearing this and that and etc etc, they like ok, so heres me thinking im off the hook and this little lie will die but i was wrong, another nikka asking me if this chick is really mine im like yo i dun told ya mans this is my bytch what more u want, next thing you know this nikka like ite kool i know her so im gonna bring her to school tomorrow...............my face dropped like this nikka shut the fuk up you dont know her (i mean how could he know a chick i've been lying about right?) well the next day came and after school some friends were telling me my girlfriend is here, im like lying bro, than some other female jumpoff came up to me saying how my girlfriend is here and im like so im walking around seeing if they telling the truth and who do i see at the school gates?!?!?!?!?......................the redbone bytch i was lying about so now they all come up to me saying "so is this your girlfriend?" all i said was i dont know this chick, they laughed and walked away.


now the nikka i told this little lie too was the one that made this into a big thing ffs i was just joking about hitting some redbone meat and this nikka tells everybody, yeah it was my fault from the start for even mentioning it but damn.

so anyway after a week has passed, outside the school gates as i make my way home from school this older nikka pulls out the whip like "you denzel right?" i said yeah i am him, he then gets out with his people like "i dont like the way you been talking about my bytch" im like yo i dont know her bruh some nikka put that lie on me this nikka then pulls out his phone and tells me he got goons on deck that will kill me right now so im like yo pls bruh i didnt do shyt man, this fool calls up the bytch and is like "yo did you fuk this nikka denzel" he put her on loud speaker so i could hear and her reply was no, you the only guy i been with, then he hangs up like " yeah nikka i been the only one in that p*ssy, u better stay in ur lane boy or my youngins bout to end yo life"

i was angry at myself for even starting that life but fuk it YOLO
