I live in an apartment so heating costs aren't a big deal, but I usually keep it around 71-72.

My thermostat may be in the wrong place.

I set a schedule, and it'll feel cool in the crib, but the thermostat will still say some shyt like "77" and never shut off, since I have it set to shut off when it hits 72.

Again it feels cooler than what thermostat is saying.

Any helpful hints?

Like you said, maybe you need to move your thermostat elsewhere :manny:

Especially if it's somewhere that would be hotter than the rest of the house, for example by the stove or next to a window that gets a lot of sunlight.

Or your thermostat could just be malfunctioning and need to be replaced.

I'm in Texas so it stays at 68 all day long. I'm never going to compromise my comfort to save $30 on my electric bill :yeshrug:

74/75 for me.

my house has zoned AC, and I NEVER run AC upstairs since I only sleep up there and by that time, it's typically cool.

in the winter it's around 72 degrees for the heat downstairs and 70 upstairs.

Right now 75-77.

But when energy prices aren't so damn ridiculous, I'll usually run it at 72-74 and 68 at night when I'm sleep.
