During the 90's did the South have more lyrical/content driven HIT SINGLES than any other region?

The thread title states that the South had more hits not bigger. None of what you posted was bigger than Ready Or Not, Dear Mama, Gangster's Paradise, or Pray

Let's take the Ball & G track out of the equation...and the bolded is the only one of these tracks on par with anything in the OP...as far as quality/content (since the "hit" criteria is fulfilled in this particuar instance)

Slippin & Dear Mama...between two coasts...is that it?
