I get the overall idea of what Wade means but it doesn't sound right with him being the messenger. It's framed like he's saying LeBron will be the only player we will compare future all time greats to, but since LeBron has still a ways to go before he catches MJ, I don't think that's accurate.

Tom Brady became the undisputed GOAT last year at 44 years in his 22nd year
No one brings up how long hes been in the league when he breaks records
You don't know what can happen
What if Lebron wins a 5th championship or a 5th MVP
You can't say anything until he retire
Until then you just praying it doesn't happen

This is fair, but LeBron has an unrealistic amount of ground to cover. Another thing that you are discounting is that people do take longevity into account, that's actually one of the first things brought up when people mention KAJ's legacy. It'll play a part in what people think of LeBron in 2042.

When I hear the longevity point in regards to Lebron in the mainstream media they can't believe that Lebron is still playing this well with over 60K minutes on the odometer.
I think its a point in his favor because most of the greats retired because they broke down by this point in their careers and Lebron is still going.
I just saw a stat in this Laker game that he's averaging 35 ppg, 53% shooting over his last 13 games.

Brady won it last year because he still playing!
Lebron can win 5 rings and 5 FMVPs because he still playing!
You can't say anything until its over
:gucci:THIS IS STILL LESS
THAN MJ.

YOU REALLY ARE SLOW.

EVEN IF HE GOT 6
BY SOME MIRACLE MJ
STILL DID IT IN HALF THE TIME.

WHAT LIST IN THE 90S?

2020

Ranking the top 74 players of all time: 10-1

BILL RUSSELL FROM
THE 1960S IS NUMBER 4 ON THIS LIST...
A MAN FROM 60 YRS AGO...

MJ #1 ON EVERY RECENT LIST
AND AINT shyt BRON CAN
DO ABOUT IT.
wow a list that has Lebron James #2 before he won his 4th championship (less than Bill Russell and Magic Johnson by the way)
I wonder what could happen if he wins another one
Maybe this list doesn't use number of championships as the only barometer

I do believe Kobe was underrated while living, people weren’t even having him top-10. But it’s gone to overrated in his death. And it’s still such a sensitive topic, people are only now starting to rebut this recent “Kobe is the goat” talk. His goat supporters were allowed to run wild with those fantasies for a couple of years but I think enough time has passed where we can be honest again.

It'll correct itself in a few years; we're only two years from his passing so it's still really fresh, and thats what really ignited the overrating of his career...

He may have been slightly underrated in life but he's been doubly overrated the last two years. Most people had him in that 8-15 range pre-death, even if one thought that was underrating him, I never saw anything that put him below 15. Personally that range is about right, Kobe is a borderline Top 10 All-Timer---->meaning you could make the case both for and against him as Top 10. That's right where he belongs, maybe anything lower than 12 or 13 is a little low, but anything higher than 8 or 9 is really high...

So the opposite has happened in his death, he's now being lauded as a Top 10 lock with many people pushing for him as Top 5, which is ridiculous. His career wasn't unique enough to lock him in undisputedly at Top 10, and calling somebody Top 5 means they have a Rushmore and GOAT case, to which Kobe has neither. His standing in the eyes of the public improved off nothing he actually did on the floor; most people had it right before his death...

It'll take a few more years, I estimated a half-decade or so, once there's some distance between his passing and the present, the analysis of his career will gradually shift back towards reason, that 8-15 range. Could be even lower at that point though, depending on how Durant and Steph close their careers, and what Giannis does in the coming half-decade to rise historically...

Wade isn’t lying. Eventually these Jordan obsessionists will die out. It’s still wild to me how media members STILL cape for him because they grew up in that era (Stephen A, Wilbon, etc)

He may die out but Kareem wasn't seen as the man for a log time. It was Magic & Bird, then Jordan. Kareem was surpassed during his playing days. Jordan never had a peer after Magic retired.
