Wade:
controls the ball for 3.2 minutes a game
averages 47 touches per game
gets to control the ball whenever he wants
gets to pick and choose when to score
plays against second units
only averages 11 points per game
JR:
controls the ball for only 1.3 minutes per game
averages 33 touches per game
only gets to handle the ball on spot-up opportunities
doesn't get to pick and choose when to score
plays against starting units
averages 8 points per game
So despite Wade having the ball in his hands for 60% longer than JR, playing against weaker defenses, and having the luxury of being able to pick and choose when to score, he only averages a measly three more points. How many points do you think Wade would average if he only handled the ball for 1.3 minutes per game, against starters? How many points do you think JR would average if he got to handle the ball for 3.2 minutes per game, against second units?
This is NOT true, at all. Not only that, but there's a reason why he was on the bench, and JR was starting.
They both have the same shooting efficiency this season - 52 TS%. And this is with JR having to take tougher shots against better defenses.
