Uncertain grounds
I couldn't stand Dwight Howard as a Lakers fan, but I still like the mentality and just earned a ton of respect. Worthiness doesn't have prerequisites because you're worthy right now, period. You have to believe in it and that means letting go of what people think of you.

Some cats are too busy thinking of thinking they'll be worthy when they: lose 20 pounds, make partner, get their degree, win a nobel prize, win a championship, etc.

Think of everything Dwight's been through, if that dude didn't believe in himself he'd be a wreck no matter if he was a basketball player or not. Props to him for that mentality.

I can co-sign your logic but not with Dwight specifically.

He's acting like he's happier with a "Good Effort!" sticker on his homework assignment rather than getting an A+ on it. Yay mommy put it on the fridge!

He played well throughout the playoffs..no doubt..but he doesnt have a "champion" mind-set at all..and it seemed like it was out of insecurity like he was trying to convince himself it was true on some The Secret shyt while low-key shifting burden on other players.

You can be a "champion" in a way without winning championships due to unfortunate circumstances..but that is if the person/player exhibits the same traits that stars of championship teams do. Dwight has been blessed physically AND given the most opportunities of any player to work with literally some of the GOAT big men in a 5 year time span and hasnt improved his game at all. Nothing has improved since his 1st or 2nd year in the league and he became established. He got satisfied that he got to the point in which he wouldnt be considered a failure and plateaued. Thats not a championship mentality.

Its funny, us in here never playing any kind of professional sports commenting on "championship mindset" like we would know what that is. This man was banging down low rebounding blocking shots and being a presence in the midde. But because his game aint in a natly wrapped package, we say he doesn't want it. I personaly call bulshyt

The Ummah!
at least he's positive. No reason to be depressed over what has happened already :manny: He's playing in argubley the toughest western Conference ever. If he played in the east he would be in the championship easy.

When you are gunning for rings, anything other than making the ship is an early exit. IMO

Dudes aren't getting any younger, and the cards don't always fall the same way. I would pretty much see it as a wasted year. Not to undermine what we've accomplish, but we ultimately didn't make our goal (if our goal was to win a ring), so we failed :yeshrug:
