this is as nostalgic as it gets. No they don't. Went without a title from 1988 to 2000, thats 11 fkn years. the last time they missed the playoffs were less then 9 years ago

foh u idiot laker fan, your team sucks and they're done

The Lakers went to the Finals in '89-'90 and '90-'91, so in essence, they still were the 2nd best team those years. They lost but, that's better than being on the other 28 teams. So it was really a 9 year drought. Not an 11 year hiatus like you're making it out to be. And the Lakers would've never had that drought if Magic hadn't caught HIV :beli: That's like Larry Bird getting pancreatic cancer. It has a tendency to fukk up a franchise for a little bit :beli:

The problem with this is that Kobe is all about getting the win. Even tho he has a very dominating personality, he's able to mesh with other players becuz he's willing to put personalities to the side for the greater good.

My problem with c00n (yup I'm back to calling him that) is he was able to bash his Orlando crew becuz he felt like new carried them. I don't have a problem with him saying any of that becuz you would think he was all about winning. If that's the case then don't bytch about being around a guy who doesn't smile a lot.

The thing is, even Kobe readily admitted that being in Shaq's shadow and hearing the "Kobe can't win without Shaq" stuff bothered him. If he was only about winning, he would have been dreading the day that Shaq left, not looking forward to the new opportunities.

Star players grow accustomed to getting all of the praise when things go well and little of the blame when they don't. Being the second in line in LA basically turn the tables on Dwight since Kobe was the untouchable guy in town.

They lost 11 straight games to start the season. The fukk did they have to be smiling about?

NOBODY is against smiling, but you can't be on the sidelines smiling and grinning when your team is struggling. ANYBODY would get killed for that and I can't think of another all time great player or coach that would go for any of that bullshyt.

Could you image if Reilly, Pop, or Phil caught this nikka smiling during an 11 game losing streak?

Magic Johnson is internationally known for smiling and playing the game with unbridled joy, but when the team struggled that smile went away and he'd CLEARLY be upset.

The fact that he has said this shyt multiple times proves that Jeff Van Gundy was right about him. He wants unconditional praise and love from everybody regardless of how he or the team performs.

It bothered him because Shaq had been the one saying it.

And I sure would like to see this parallel universe where Dwight got all the blame the entire season and Kobe received no criticism whatsoever.

Mike Brown was the first person to get blame last season dude to him being a shytty coach that lost the locker room.

Pau Gasol got blamed sporadically throughout the season.

Kobe started getting blamed as soon as the regular season started. Or did I imagine that ESPN and half of you nikkas around here were constantly tracking Kobe's shot attempts and FG%?

Dwight was occasionally being criticized for his wack post game, but many gave him a pass because he wasn't healthy. It wasn't until Nash put him on blast for not playing hard that shyt really picked up. Then he tore his labrum and Kobe and a few others put him on blast for not playing through an injury they KNEW he could have played though.

Some of the criticisms of Dwight last season were unfair, but some of them he brought upon himself. There were times where he CLEARLY just wasn't engaged. It's not a coincidence that his play became more consistent after that meeting in Memphis.

Dawg a lot of that to this very day is still just speculation. We don't know if Shaq really asked for a trade. If kobe said it's either him or shaq. What we do know is that management was willing to cut ties with Shaq becuz of his bad work habits and his age compared to Kobe.

It blows my mind that anyone is taking Dwight's side in this. I'm not even a Kobe fan but I respect greatness, how can you question the methods of a dude who's won 5 NBA Championships and was the best player on two of those teams? :dahell:

Who this nikka think he is, a muppet on Sesame Street? fukkouttahere with that shyt Dwight
:what:

Kobe wants to win, now. Of course he gonna be serious. I'd expect my team to be serious all season if we were struggling to make the damn playoffs. And I'm not even a Kobe fan but no one can question his heart. Dwight has no heart, and will be fine in a no pressure situation like Houston.

I'm not talking about the passive aggressive digs ESPN takes with the "lakers are 43-0 when Kobe takes fewer than 19 shots" graphics, I'm talking about the Lakers fans.

Kobe is golden in LA, no matter how bad he fukks up in a particular game, he doesn't have to worry about the fans getting at him or saying the team should cut his ass. Dwight got a steady diet of that last year and I'm sure he wasn't used to it. Obviously it's a different situation since Kobe has been there for 35 seasons and Dwight was a one year player that had the ability to hit it and quit it but still, it is what it is.

Kobe has said a lot of things about wanting to retire a Laker but if the fans started getting at him and wanting him off the team the way they did with Dwight, do you really think he wouldn't be motivated to go elsewhere for the last few years of his career?

These reports about what Dwight or his camp did or didn't want are also speculative.

What Im saying is that if winning was all that mattered, Kobe would be sticking up for Shaq and wanting him to stay even when Shaq was shytting on him. Instead, it got to a point where they had to choose one or the other and I didnt see any indication that either one minded losing their best teammate.
