I don't believe he's a superstar either, I think that term is used too loosely. There aren't even 5 superstar in the NBA imo, but I think Dwight is a top 5 impactful player in the NBA.

He played in an era with great centers Dwight is the best center by default,if he played in the 80's and 90's hed be a second tier center

Dwights more comparable to Mourning then Ewing in terms of production and ability hes not a top 50 player of all time
