Offensively he wouldn't, which is the same knock that's going against Rudy and the former has more DPOY awards.
That's how I know cats are bias against him![]()
This is precisely why I mentioned Mitchell Robinson of the knicks. His style works

That’s because the Knicks aren’t asking him to do more offensively. This is precisely why I mentioned Mitchell Robinson of the knicks. His style works
Yeah dudes are having revisionist history about how ass Wallace was offensively and how it wouldn’t be sustainable in today’s NBA.Damn, Ben Wallace shot 38% on lay-ups, 24% on jumpers, 31% on hook shots, 43% on tip ins, 49% on free throws in Detroit’s ‘04 title season

Best case scenario is like Robert Williams for him in this era and he’s not quite the dunking machine, doesn’t have the same FT line touch, or passing chops as Williams. Like a worse offensive Robert Williams with unlimited stamina and Andre Drummond rebounding.

Karl-Anthony Towns was defending the best player in the league (and doing a pretty good job) this past spring because the DPOY was getting killed in the same matchup.
Gobert needs certain circumstances to be impactful defensively.
This just isnt true. Im a Wolves fan and not a Gobert fan really but the best way to defend Joker, and really the only way ever proven to be consistently effective, is to take away the playmaking aspect and help with actual size. Rudy basically shuts down all the other Denver movement and action by shutting the water off in the paint. He cant handle Joker 1-1 but neither can Bam or AD. But he does what they cant do which is dominate the paint in other ways. Gobert was on the floor when the wolves swept wing heavy Phoenix and then beat Denver yet folks still claim he cant play in the playoffs. They clown him for the one series against LA while ignoring the fact that Utah had bad to terrible perimeter defenders yet had a good defense almost strictly because of Rudy. The issue wasnt that he couldnt guard Mann, it was that he couldnt get to Mann in the corner while also trying to protect the paint while his guards were getting blown by. On top of that, for centers he’s actually good at switching onto guards and holding up. There’s tons of examples of it from the last few years but he got cooked by Curry in prime time and Luka hit a step back over him like he does everyone else in the league so people ignore all the examples of him holding up in those spots. His flaw isnt defense, its the lack of offensive game to punish people. But in truth he’s improved in that area as he attacks the boards, draws fouls, goes for duck ins when teams try to go small now. He’a not a perfect player and he looks mad goofy so folks like to clown but he was absolutely the deserving dpoy last year. The year before the wolves dont make the playoffs without him. He’s legit a guy you have to watch regularly in actual games to appreciate. Thats why coaches consistently vote for him for these awards. They base their entire offensive game plans around him, yet he’a consistently anchoring top defenses. There are so many many that have refuted this stuff with video, numbers, etc yet people say this stuff with their chest and be dead wrong. Just one example:Rudy's impact gets reduced by near 80% as soon as he can't roam around the low block.
He isn't quick enough to recover on blowbys, and if you switch him on the perimeter, he gets cooked.
Almost every team that has a center/forward who takes Rudy put the paint, he becomes unplayable.
You remember Mann hitting open corner 3s while Gobert tried to protect the paint cause Utahs guards were getting cooked? nikkas act like it was Mann iso’s at the top of the key every playStill remember when Terence Mann shytted on dude
I don’t know why the NBA insists on giving it to him every year. Bam and AD need some love.
Is Lamar Jackson not an elite QB because of him folding under pressure in the playoffs?
LMAO
