In 2 seasons Sean Marks has basically undone 4 years of bad Billy King decisions. Improved the team substantially and gives us the ability to sign 2 max players in 2019-2020. Plus we have at least 3 tradeable players for more picks and we can still throw our hat in for a RFA or 2.

So the Magic had agreed to the framework of a trade and Howard said he was gonna opt out to force that deal. And on that plane ride the entire team (who would know what's going on) treated it as a goodbye to Dwight. But the Magic were not going to trade him?

They refused our offers later that summer after the Joe Johnson deal when Dwight and his people asked for a trade to Brooklyn (which is hilarious since 4 months earlier he had the chance to leave and passed on it). So yes at that point the Magic refused our offers and waited for other deals. But they were 100% trading him to us at the deadline until he signed that opt-in out of nowhere.

That's where he messed up is what we've all been saying. All he had to do was not opt in on that flight. That is where things just when downward for him.

People can say what they want of his older style of play but the fact is if you dont have interior defense, he makes every team better defensively. He never needed to be anything other than a defender and he gave us +20pts along with double figure rebounds when used properly career-wise. nikkas can clown Dwight Howard for being trash all they want but let him sign to Golden State and theyll change the narrative quick as fukk and talk about how he's one of the greatest big men in the game, a former MVP candidate etc etc etc....
