How many people shytting on Dwight wouldn't take him on their squad? As bytch as he acts he is still the clear best big man in the game and guarantees you a playoff spot regardless of his teammates.

I don't want him on the Knicks. "Best big man" doens't mean anything in this era, and there may a couple of players that bring a more balanced game (and less bythcasness) to the court.

At the end of the day he's the best defensive player in the league and he'll weather all the criticism on the court just like LeBron did.

He's been getting that award because he blocks and rebounds a lot (and since he's a "star" they been trying to showcase him), but he never impressed me as an on-the-ball defender, hell not even as a team defender. Give me guys like Garnett, Chandler, Tony Allen, Sefalosha...plus he makes way too many dumb fouls. Lebron's a better defender actually.

How can he not impress you as a man defender he's fukking huge and noone can do anything with him. From KG to Bynum to anyone

He commits a lot of dumb fouls but he probably commits just as many on the offensive low block as the defensive. I wouldn't say he commits more defensive fouls than the average player. His foul trouble comes when he lashes back at the no-calls when people hack him and gets caught, or when he tries too hard to create a good angle on the low block for a shot.

I'll just put it like this, he was carrying Ryan Anderson, Rashard Lewis and Hedo next to him as his 4s at any given time and the Magic were considered a good defensive team. Those other players are solid man defenders and lead great team defenses but Dwight is a franchise defense player...you put him in the middle and you no longer have rebounding and defense problems, I always talk about him like pretty much basketball's answer to an offensive line. He covers the meat and potatoes that allow a subpar defensive team (individually the Magic suck) to have confidence.

As a rim protector and someone the offense gets funneled to and ended there's probably no one better for me, as well as defending the pick and roll. Garnett is close but he can't handle the few big centers out there like Dwight can.
