Taking raw point averages do not take into account efficiency. Kobe does drop 35 in his sleep, you are right. However, he must take 27 shots in his sleep to get them.

Wade has a higher true shooting and field goal percentage. Overall, it's a big reason why he has a higher PER. He's more productive, and any disagreeing to that is disagreeing with a large amount of objective data that says so.

I will say this: Up to right now, Kobe has had a better season because he's almost as efficient and has more volume. But I didn't say who is having the better year, I said who is the better player. It's like last season, when Wade missed 15 games, so despite being better than Bryant, they had comparable years.

By seasons end though, barring missed time by Wade, he'll pace Kobe again.

Na, homie. Dwyane has proven that he can score in elite volume and maintain elite efficiency. He would get his 26-28 a game with his shots on most other teams.

This is simply a matter of less attempts because he happens to be playing with the best player on earth and a deep team. Wade plays within the flow of games and accepts his role as a second option, he doesn't force things.

This recent play has coincided with Dwyane being healthy. Like I said before, he usually starts slow, and on top of that he was coming off of surgery and a missed off season. I didn't get the rush to push him out the door as a superstar in this league.

You give those numbers no perspective, Wade is a much more efficient player and here's the math.

Wade averages 21 points taking 15 shots a game @ 52% for 33 mins. Kobe takes 22 shots a game. If Wade shot the ball 22 times a game he'd average 28 PPG, and that's without adjusting his free throw attempts or minutes played. If Kobe shot the ball 15 times a game at his current percentage he'd average 20.2 ppg, and thats while giving him his current minutes and free throw attempts. In all likelihood Wade would average around 29-30 points given the same minutes and fga as Kobe, while Kobe would average around 18.6 put in Wade's situation.

Wade would also have to have the mid-range game of Kobe

Wade already admitted to only taking high percentage shots, so for him to get the same amount of FGA's, he would have to take more low percentage shots, and thats something he isnt willing to do

You ignored the point that Wade has proven beyond a doubt that he can score in elite volume in the past without sacrificing efficiency. You simply have to look at the majority of his career for evidence of him taking more attempts and still selecting a fair share of shots at the rim.

It's not that he's not willing to. It's that he plays on a top-loaded, deep team and he doesn't force attempts.

The point about Kobe's mid-range game isn't inaccurate but has nothing to do with the point.

Since they've been in the league, it's been shocking to witness their understanding of all things related to basketball. They came in with an old-school "team first" mentality after an era dominated by Kobe, Vince, AI, Marbury and other similar players.

In the middle of their careers, they banded together, refusing to be held captive by inertia, marketing nonsense, ego problems, and that still unexplained hypocrisy regarding, "loyalty".

That article is surprising only because there are so many stars in the league who still don't care about efficiency. MJ and Scottie used to also have in-game games to try to maximize possessions and efficiency.
