That's a weak argument for the death penalty because with lawyer costs + all the appeals, death penalty cases end up costing tax payers more than life in prison.

The argument is that life in prison without parole is a death sentence in itself, so capital punishment should be justified as well.
Or the fact that for the last 15 years we've been murdering foreign enemies of the state/Al Qaeda/ISIS/Terrorists. So why is it okay to murder a foreign brown islamic terrorist, but not a domestic white christian one? Lots of ways to go at it, I'm just hipping you to some shyt you might not know, my mom's a libertarian accountant, so all I ever hear about is taxes and shyt like that.
