This dropped the same year Coolio rhymed "self" with "left", effectively issuing a challenge to emcees nationwide to no longer be relegated to the confines of traditional rhyming structure, 2 years later E-40 accepted that challenge and raised the bar even further when he rhymed "Danell" with "Vallejo" and from that point forward no word was safe from being forced to rhyme with any other word regardless of sound or syllable.
East coast legends like Chuck D and Prodigy would combat the rhyme drought by dropping 4, 5 and even 6 bar couplets where the last words just didn't rhyme at all but, the Bay Area opted to stay true to the foundations of emceeing and expand the boundaries within the Art Of Rhyme by forcing words to rhyme that typically wouldn't.
While rappers like Rick Ross were busy not asking consent of the women they bedded 40 Water no longer required consent of the English language to rhyme any word at whim. Call it Statutory Rap.
