That fountain of youth line is crack

Age in hip hop was frowned upon a decade ago and longer because hip hop itself was still young but now that hip hop been around going on 40 yrs and been known for 30+ it's not a big deal for a rapper to be older

I'm pretty sure when rock and roll was only 20 yrs old 40+ yr old rock artists were frowned upon

In the 90s a 20 yr old rapper was considered mature, Nas was only 20 when he made Illmatic

Nowadays you couldn't even fathom a 20 yr old coming in this rap game and making anything near a classic

The reason rap is dying because the youth is not apart of it anymore.
These old nikkas won't let it go and in result they have killed it.

No it's because the youth who are a part of it aren't stepping their game up. That's not completely their fault because guys like Trinidad James, Chief Keef, and Soulja Boy are just pawns. But then you have guys like Drake who have skills but would rather be a bootleg Al B. Sure.

E-40 is right tho, age does not matter in rap... but he didn't also acknowledge that age doesn't matter when you know your fanbase and don't attempt to pander to get new fans or do shyt that's just way out of their lane.

where we see rappers constantly falter when getting older, is attempting to re-gain that popularity that they once had instead of just catering to their fanbases.

rap isn't dying breh, and the main problem the older rappers have... is that they fail to acknowledge that there is space for everyone in rap, they get stuck in a time warp.

these old rappers don't need to let go of shyt, they just need to realize that they're not running the party anymore...they're still in the building... but they might just be occupying a booth in the corner instead of the VIP like they used to.

E-40's rapping alongside cats half his age (if that), and on tracks that youngsters bump...but it don't come across as :snoop: as alot of these older rappers.
