This generation is so trash. Everyone is focused on graphics and minimal graphical disparities and gameplay inovation became almost an afterthought.

That's why previous gens had classic games constantly being released and now we get shyt like Ryse, Driveclub, Killzone 3 etc.

I would agree with you but obviously the gaming community points out flaws in games regardless of how beautiful the graphics are (see Destiny)
and PS3 had loads of games with quality graphics going hand in hand with excellent gameplay.. Theres alot of Indie and arcade games to fufill your old school needs
PS4 and XBONE are still in the early stages.
Theres not much too innovate anymore until we get Oculus rift

a gaming company is going to make a game... the gameplay is going to be the gameplay... that will always be identical

so if i got a game and its gameplay is a A+.... what in the world would make me choose to get the version where the graphics are an A-?? Especially when right there, the same exact game with the same exact gameplay and same exact price, is sitting there with A+ graphics

Unless you own multiple platforms than this makes no sense. And if you do own multiple platforms then you know the relative power of each, so you can pretty much guess which one to buy the game on. And other differences such as controler, community, online service, friends ect would be more meaningful. If A+ performance is what your looking for than PC will always be the best. We don't need debate to figure that out.

The 900p 1080p debate has taken over because its a perceived advantage of one of the consoles, so those console owners like to scream it at the top of their lungs to prop up their little plastic machine.

and this is another reason why i havent gone up yet. the ps4 and x1 are still behind pc and the jump from 360 to x1 for example is really that big from a gameplay pov

It's actually the other way around. Early PS3 games were fukked, and it was more than a slight differences in clarity. But that didn't cause the entire industry to be overly concerned with that stuff.

This entire debate is Sony fans feeling themselves after 8 years of inferior games. Just look at the threads here. An official thread for a game will flop on the first page, but the thread outlining the difference in the game will go plat. shyts pitiful at this point. I actually want Kinect Sports Rivals and its a fun game. DriveClub, you don't want it and its not a game with longevity in its future. Kinect Sports JUST had a world tournament recently. But if you only pay attention to one side, you would be clueless to whats really good. What else is new

Real question, how much of a nerd would you have to be to constantly over the internet act like 1080p is night and day compared to 720p let alone 900p?
Like, I'm 100% sure that the games coming out on both system between now and 2016 HEAVILY favor the xbox one. I'd rather have that, rather have dedicated servers on all games, XBL, Cloud, DX.12, tiled resources. I'd rather have all that and a brighter future than 100 extra P in a handful of early titles.
