Games take so long to make now, the reason they were greenlit in the first place sometimes has run its course before the game actually comes out.

Marvel IP was at its all time high when all these games were conceived. Now they have declined and these games became extremely risky investments.

We had a good run of actually good licensed games, but i think they will go back to being the money-grabbing movie tie ins they used to be.

In a 5 year span, Insomniac dropped Spider-Man 1+DLC, Miles Morales+SM1 Remaster, Ratchet and Clank and Spider-Man 2.
How many other AAA devs have dropped that much content within 5 years alone?

Wolverine gameplay not being shown yet isn't cause for concern for me because I know it's being handled by a competent team. It'd be like saying how about we not let GTA be made by Rockstar because we haven't seen a lick of gameplay yet since it's reveal in 2023.

Games undergoing long early development and/or being restarted completely like FFXV is an example.

This is true. They cost too much and require a full set of expensive voice actors and orchestras to make everything epic. They need to scale back on the pageantry and focus on story and gameplay. I don’t need FInal Fantsay length cutscenes in all my games.

These games should be easy money since superhero content was easy money but they don’t have confidence in any character other than Spider-Man and Batman for some strange reason so every other character gets treated like it’s some big risk
