Thats a myth. Alex Smith isn't a great deep ball thrower but his time in Kansas City deaded that. He besically has 53% completion rating on passes over 20 yards which is respectable and thats with less weapons than he had on 49ers.

2 of his top 3 receivers were RBs and his deep throws were toss ups to Bowe. It's not that Alex got better. It's that Bowe bailed out his shytty deep throws. Desean ain't Bowe. He's fast and small. He doesn't do jump balls. He'd be rendered useless on their team.

raiders have matt schaub tho, he has a weaker arm than alex at this point and also cant consistently hit deeper targets (although Id say hes better at it than alex)

even if you look at the "proof" video of alex smith...his "deep" balls are still only maxed out at 40-50 yards. as opposed to a nikka like wacko flacco flame whos deep balls are 60-70 yards. i dont think theres any question that alex simply doesnt have a strong arm.

what we're doing with the team so far this offseason...the direction the franchise is headed and the money he'll be able to get...i cant understand why he would chose any team over the raiders (out of the 3-4 teams the media is reporting are interested).

even w/ schaubs int problems....he's STILL capable of throwing for 4000 yards this season. RG3 isnt. desean is almost guaranteed a 1000 yard season if he goes to oakland.

Exactly, the team is on the upswing in a weaker conference so it's more prospect for success. Seyton on the way out and we'll be able to invest more on defense in gettin Desean. You never know tho....

why are you comparing his arm to flaccos, who has the strongest arm in the league ? I dont get it. alex smith has a strong enough arm to make deep throws. problem hes inaccurate deep way too much.

that should be the reason as to why desean is a bad fit in kc, not because some qb can throw a ball 70 yards in the air and alex cant. 70 yard in the air throws are very uncommon in the NFL in general. I dont know the stats, but Im willing to bet that last year desean had a ball thrown 70 yards in the air to him like twice all season long, if not less

if schaub goes back to his old form hed be a good qb provided their line can do something. I just doubt hes throwing for 4k yards with that supporting cast around him, and desean by himself wont make it much better.
