why are you comparing his arm to flaccos, who has the strongest arm in the league ? I dont get it. alex smith has a strong enough arm to make deep throws. problem hes inaccurate deep way too much.

that should be the reason as to why desean is a bad fit in kc, not because some qb can throw a ball 70 yards in the air and alex cant. 70 yard in the air throws are very uncommon in the NFL in general. I dont know the stats, but Im willing to bet that last year desean had a ball thrown 70 yards in the air to him like twice all season long, if not less

i'm comparing a weak arm with a strong arm...thats it. some posts and videos were trying to refute the fact that alex smith has a weak arm...when in fact, compared to other nfl QBs his arm is weak...if not the weakest out of all starting NFL qbs. reason i said flacco is because ive seen actual footage of him throwing the ball over 70 yards...it would have been irresponsible of me to use other QBs to make my point if i couldnt accurately quote distances I know for fact they have thrown a football.

i'm not even saying desean has to go to a team with a QB who has one of the strongest arms. I just think alex smith and the cheifs are a poor fit for djax. like you said....50+ yard throws are uncommon. you're only going to attempt maybe 2 of those per game...and they usually dont even end up in receptions.

if we wanna discuss the raiders Oline....the oline is BETTER now than it was in 2012...and carson palmer threw for 4k yards on the raiders that season. my comment wasnt absurd whatsoever its very realistic to think schaub is capable of doing that this year.

the video refuted the myth that alex cannot throw deep or past 20 yards because of his arm, which is clearly false. Id say alex smith arm is easily better than ponder, gabbert, schaub, cassel and bradford. but yes, its below average if we're comparing it to other starters

I think his arm is more than fine to make 95% of throws you need to make. if he could hit those deep throws consistently hed be a top 10 qb at this point.

whats ironic is that schaub has a weaker arm than smith at this point but people have no problems of desean going to raiders

smith has been in the league for about 8 years, your gonna find video of him throwing deep because hes basically been a starter for a while

if anything smth had a better arm before the shoulder injury probably was above average and now hes probably just average

you can tell how hard a qb can throw with how much zip he puts on those out patterns from from the opposite sidelines. thats one throw he cant make
