This isn't a situation where the offense could drain out the clock there. The Falcons were up four points. The Eagles had to score a TD.


There is a 0% chance any team would let someone score in that situation.

i'm almost certain i've seen Belichek let a team score to get the ball back with time. I know i've it in other games too.

edit: i know for a fact i've seen multiple games where the announcers were like "touchdown.........................but look at how much times they left for Brady"

Belichick did it when his team was up by one ie. the other team didn't need a TD to win; they needed just a FG (that was Super Bowl XLVI)

It goes against every coaching bone in these coach's body but sometimes it makes sense to let them score. Especially if your defense is trash and you got a good offense.

Thing is, you never know... you might stop them.
