When you lead your team to a playoff win your first year starting, you're not supposed to get cut and forced out the league.
That just doesn't happen. David Carr got more chances than that
David Carr was a 1st overall pick and could actually throw a football. Carr's numbers obliterate Tebow's and that was playing behind some fo the worst Olines in history. You don't deserve a chance just based off of one fluke win. You casually missed his pathetic performance the next week against the Pats. That's what happens when a D actually tries to stop Tebow...he looks like a High school player. Pittsburgh's gameplan was to stop everything else and let Tebow beat them. He did...and that's more based off of Pitt not respecting him.
Dude never deserved another shot as a starting QB because his numbers were putrid. <50% completion, one of the worst QBRs I've ever seen, terrible pocket pressence, terrible accuracy. There is not one single tangible attribute he has that is above average. No coach is dumb enough to put their job on the line for a QB who can barely play.
Lastly, giving David Carr all those chances set that franchise back for a long ass time...that's exactly what Tebow would have done to any team if he was given 4-5 years opportunity as a starter.
PS: Tebow was winning games completing less than 10 passes and you're trying to tell me he led that squad to the playoffs? He actually won a game completing 2 passes. That D is who led them to the playoffs.
