Earl is dope, and is entitled to his own opinion. Not like a large number of people feel the same way about MCHG. All of a sudden, Earl says it and everyone flips? Nah. I agree with him to an extent, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he brings on Doris because it clearly will not sound anything like MCHG. That's how I look at it. MCHG is a little stale, uninspired, and isn't vibrant enough to warrant repeat spins.

Anyone saying Earl's camp is bogus hasn't listened to Domo Genesis - No Idols. Man, that album completely trumps on MCHG on every level. Just saying.

Man I agree 100% that MCHG was stronger than Wolf. Much, much stronger honestly. I respect Tyler, but I had a hard time latching on to WOLF.

And in my criticism of MCHG - it's not that there aren't some solid beats on MCHG, it's the lyrical content, the sequencing of the beats, and more importantly, the lack of cohesion that irks me. It plays like a mixtape, and it lacks a polish and focus. If Jay's calling his album Magna Carta Holy Grail, I expect that shyt to sound official. MCHG would have been better off titled, Trivial Notes Beer In A Can.

As a big Jay fan, I am also a big critic. He's more capable than this album. I like it, but then when you compare it to previous works, it gets disappointing incredibly fast.

Real shyt...the album came about so fast, I really didn't have much time to sit around and stew about how much better or worse this album was going to be than his previous material.

I been enjoying the album on it's own and haven't even thought about where it ranks in his catalog or any of the bullshyt like that.

As artist, there's an unspoken code involved with speaking negatively about other artist's works in public. It has nothing to do with Jay being some omnipotent power who must never be criticized. This applies to all artists. You don't fukk with another artist's money like that unless you got beef wit em.

That's why we never heard Nas say "Work Out" sucked even surrounded by other praise....J. Cole had to let that out the bag. Watch that Timbo interview on magna Carta where he talks about Ye shytting on Suit & Tie...he's like that's cool, everyone's not going to like everything you do, but I wish he wouldn't have said that in public and would've just said it to me.

Very rarely do artists criticize other artists, and it was even more rare back in the day (outside of beefs, of course)
