This shyt is dope, like that he switched up his flow from that dull monotone delivery he had on doris. I also like that it's short, it prevents the album from dragging on. Overall I'll give it an 8/10
I can't wrap my mind around Earl producing this (mostly) himself. To go from making Chum to making Huey and Mantra in like a year and a half...
Also, I've noticed this album sounds about a million times better on my $7 headphones than my $170 speaker. Don't know if it's the mixing, or what, but just a suggestion if you found it wack, and have only been listening on speakers.
Lyrically, it's probably Earl by a small margin. But album to album, Joey had the better album to me. I love this though. If hip hop was wrestling, they'd both be I the IC division and to me Joey just beat Bronson and Earl in a triple threat match to retain the title.
only heard grief and i liked it. and im normally skeptical of these hipster approved rappers. ima try and be fair. but im going in hoping to not like it.
