Backlash is already starting :wow:

Game (especially story modus) seems to be as boring as the beta, I'll skip it...

Story

The stories tell of a golden age long ago, when our civilization spanned the system. It was a bright and hopeful time. But it didn't last.
Something hit us. Knocked us down and tried to stamp us out. No one knows exactly what, but we do know this: very few of us survived, and those that did owe their lives to the The Traveler.
Legends say The Traveler sacrificed itself to save us. The mysterious sphere still hangs where it made its last stand, low above the Earth, keeping silent watch.
The years that followed the collapse of the golden age were hard, but slowly we joined together to build a city beneath The Traveler. And now we've begun to venture back into the wild, only to find that we're not alone. Strange and deadly creatures have occupied our old worlds. And they're pressing hard against The City, probing for a weakness, trying to stamp us out for good.
Your story begins at this moment of great adventure and peril. You are a Guardian of The City; a soldier able to wield some of The Traveler's incredible power. If you can find a way to save The City -- to reclaim all that we have lost -- you will become legend. If you fail, the last light of civilization will go out.[28]

Funny thing is the story mode in this game which has the "non existent" story is actually funner than the past Halo game campaigns. The moon missions are fun as fukk. That level 8 story?? :wow: Just finished it with my boy and man :wow:. The strike?? :wow: That boss at the end?? :ohmy1:

I mean I cannot understand how people who love to big up "gameplay" in their opinions can all of a sudden switch up and make it seem like they want a Mass Effect like story when the gameplay more than makes up for whatever shortcomings it has.

gameplay > ALL when it comes to gaming. Not even a debate

BTW Jeff Gerstmann doesn't really like the game and I trust his opinion. I'm skipping destiny brehs
The Walking Dead Season 1 got GOTY nods and it basically has no gameplay so there's clearly something to say about story being on par with gameplay.

When it comes to destiny it's not that the actual story is bad. It's the way the story is presented through gameplay that's the problem. The missions are just uninteresting. There's no set pieces or variation in gameplay. The enemies pretty much use the same tactics throughout. The majority of the dialog comes from one voice actor who sucks. There's nobody to meet and nothing to do on the planets other than shoot the same enemies who spawn in the same spot everytime.

If the actual gameplay wasn't so good destiny would be trash bin status. I can understand people enjoying it for what it is, but with so much good shooter competition this year and all the hype surrounding destiny i can understand why it's not reviewing so good.

well if its an ACTION movie.. :comeon:

nobody knows what really is going on in the raid but its highly regarded as a classic action movie
So if only gameplay matters then why do we ever talk about story, presentation, level design, graphics, ect?

Why do devs even spend time on those things if all that maters is gameplay?
