Everyone on my friends list has been playing and enjoying this game.

A 7/10 is still a good game. And being that its co-op focused its not hard to imagine that people are having a good time with their friends.

a hub... from the hub select a place (planet) you're dropped onto a massive field, kill every enemy you see, follow the arrow on your radar, do a couple basic search tasks, enter a part of the map where you cant respawn, kill the boss. go back to the hub, repeat.

am i wrong or....?

This describes the game perfectly

Destiny feels like a series of waiting rooms, where enemies to shoot are the magazines you're expected to read, except you had goddamned well finish that issue of Us Weekly before you're allowed to move on.

Its not a bad game at all but I bet in a couple months most people will have moved on to something else. Only the most hardcore fans will remain. This is a good distraction until something better comes along.

What big next gen title has held people's attention for more than a 1-2 months so far?

Games get hot and then another comes up. It's how it's always been. Last game with a HUGE lasting influence IMO was modern warfare 2

yeah the little i played of this game left me very underwhelmed. i'll probably sell this shyt on ebay honestly, because with between titanfall and the upcoming halo, this will definirtely be bushes status. i'll be playing diablo iii in the meantime.
