In just over seven months, humanity has used up a full year's allotment of natural resources such as water, food and clean air -- the quickest rate yet, according to a new report. The point of "overshoot" will officially be reached on Monday, said environmental group Global Footprint Network -- five days earlier than last year. "We continue to grow our ecological debt," said Pascal Canfin of green group WWF, reacting to the annual update. "From Monday August 8, we will be living on credit because in eight months we would have consumed the natural capital that our planet can renew in a year."

There is fukkery in the ranks....like when was the last time a prominent environmentalist group mentioned Fukushima...hell half of the largest ones still promote nooklear power....:francis:. Most of those are in the Democratic party right?

Well the reason, why I can't just put my faith in Republican party either is because they want to develop and exploit resources, till there is nothing left, and use libertarian free market philiosophy as their shield...:snoop:...they got nothing to say when the water is undrinkable.

This is why I can't promote either party on some zombie like steeze. We are destroying our natural environment, because the industrial paradigm as far as raw materials hasn't changed in 100 years. It's not by accident. We have the technology to not be over exploiting our resources though, but the term "disruptive technology" has been the overarching feauture of keeping the status quo. Shiit is breaking through though. S. Korea is working with an international team to commercialize cold fusion?? based generators that will not cause nooklear winter and make the land uninhabitable if they break down.

In other words, rich industrialised countries have been abusing the earth but are now :whoa: when other countries want in on he action.

You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street.

Yeah there is that element to it too.

The rich industrialized nations are built and maintained through cheap+plentiful resources. The more countries that rise up... the more expensive and scarce those resources become.

No one stays on top forever tho.. once empire decline begins.. it can't be stopped :manny:
