Back then the same folks made both and yet NCAA was still the better game.

They had different teams making both games.
I'd imagine now with this game being away for almost 10 yrs
1.they probably didn't rehire a full staff
2. Bc of that It's probably 100% based on Madden engine
3. Bc lack of employees it was probably a trash effort and so they delayed it.
4. EA has released crappy games in the past so for this to get delayed it must be complete dogahit
Lol. There are STILL things from the glory days of PS1 and ps2 that never made it into last ncaa games they made.
That's their MO, remove everything and slowly add it back year after year.
But little things like cheerleaders having the achool logo on their outfits was on ps2. But this never made it to ps3 versions.
Ps1 had a generic east/west senior game. Never made it to ps2 or ps3 versions.

Yes they did have different teams but to point on the Madden engine, NCAA Football 14 used the same exact engine as Madden and it was a great game, plus they said it wasn’t a Madden re-skin, if it was, the game would’ve been out already. So they’re making the game from scratch.
They better have a good explanation for the delay though, my first thought was licensing issues with certain schools.
