I hate to say it, but I can't crucify Utley for that slide. Mike just said what I was thinking, if Chase was a Met, we'd consider the play a hard gutsy move that's going all out to win.
:dahell: u cant cape for that grimey ass move no matter what side you're on.

I'm not a fan of any of these teams but That cac needs to be taken out:birdman:

Chase Utley's slide was late, high and arguably dirty

Utley has always been known as a tough competitor who will do anything to win, and this late-season acquisition from the Philadelphia Phillies did just that. But in coming days, that hustle may carry a price, and this signature play might wind up being a signature embarrassment.

Not that the Dodgers will publicly acknowledge this, but who can blame them? Reckless, dangerous, even dirty? After those 27 years worth of a World Series drought, the Dodgers will take it any way they can get it.

This is an accurate description of how Dodger fans feel about this situation. It might or might not have been dirty; either way it helped get us the W and the city has been waiting far too long for a World Series to feel bad about it. People forget but once upon a time the Dodgers were the main attraction in town and the Lakers were second banana; at some point it switched because it's taken the Dodgers so long to get back to title contention.

I'm not even thinking that far. :heh:

Hell, all Dodger fans should be thinking about is this series. And the next, if they make it.
