That's the same victim blaming that Sheffield was doing last night. Tejada is not a first baseman, first basemen are protected from this because you aren't allowed to slide into them and take their legs out in any circumstance. For some reason, other bases have different rules.

Playing it like a first baseman would not have prevented him from getting his legs taken out anyway. Utley came hard past the base and Tejada would have been taken out even if he took the throw and then retreated toward the outfield. Utley was going for Tejada, not the base.

thats right he was going after tejada, hes tryin to break up a double play lol

Brehs - can someone help me out here? Utley was called OUT initially. They review the play and see that he never touched the bag. Then they reverse the call and he's now safe. Is that right?

tejada never touched the base either

and its not a neighbor-hood play, so tejada had to have touced the bag

Where was the outrage when Coghlan took out Kang on a very similar play? I don't remember this much vitriol directed at Coghlan

okay - but the runner doesn't need to ever touch the bag? he's called out and then given the base despite never having touched it?

yea i dunno what happened there tbh :manny:

wat they were saying on sports radio n espn n stuff is cuz he was initially called out (which they ruled a mistake after replay cuz tejada didnt touch the bag), utley was allowed to go back to base, even though he didnt touch it. i guess by mistakenly calling him "out" it affects the play. that was their take.

:manny: shyt i'lll take it

That's actually a slide though. Utley tackled Tejada. If he would've actually slid nobody would have a problem with it. Now kick rocks. :camby:

He's clearly sliding before the bag and sliding before making contact with Rollins.

You Met fans. :snoop: :scust:

Yea, it's a slide. A SLIDE 3 FEET AWAY FROM THE BAG. :scust:

Homeboy tried to be slick. Utley out here not giving a fukk. :umad:

I wouldn't of made that last comment if you guys didn't have such shytty replies.
