but i think the west had movies with way more impact that penetrated pop culture

Boyz In The Hood, Menance II Society are both great, 5 star movies that initiated change and opened doors.

But dont forget about the east. Even though the west got those pop culture penetrating classics. Can't nothing compare to a east coast story. East Coast is more grimier and there's more adventures. The scenery is always dope as fukk and something to admire. There's diversity and a lot more going on and you can see that on classics like Juice, New Jersey Drive, New Jack City, Above The Rim, Paid In Full, In Too Deep, American Gangster and joints like that. There's definitely more diversity with stories on the east coast side and that can always be appreciated.
