west....love east coast rap, but west coast rap - production especailly - just fits in more avenues of my life and reflects the environment and vibe i grew up with. all that cold, dark skies mobb deep, cnn, etc hard shyt doesn't resonate with growing up where you can cruise around or bbq in sunshine 300 days a year and where the ghetto has plam trees

i dunno, maybe back in the early 90's, but not anymore. and being a better lyricist doesn't make you a better artist. i think that's where a lot of east coast rappers fail, they get caught up on the technical aspects of rapping and can't make a song to save their life. i think the west strikes the best balance between enjoyable and sound lyrics/skill IMO.
