I didn’t start eating rice with a spoon until I started hanging around south Asians from time to time….. They eat there meat and rice dishes with a spoon….

It really depends on the kind of rice and how it’s cooked. If it’s sticky rice, it doesn’t really matter. Otherwise, I agree. It makes logical sense to use a spoon.
