I won't sit and deny that it dosen't happen because it happens to me all the time at my job when I talk :yeshrug:.

But most blacks can't even get the opportunity in the first place to show what they can do because they are black balled from the jump for listing themselves as black.

i agree with you. but why do you think they're not getting that opportunity? yes, much of it is due to racism, point blank. they just don't like black people. that's clear. but a lot of it is due to misconceptions borne from their observation - in public and in the media, with rappers, ball players, etc. - of black people who don't speak proper english. it biases their view of our intelligence. and they make assumptions that leads to our applications for employment being tossed in the trash just off the fact that we're black. they don't even want to bother. i know that this thread is inflammatory. but it's just simple and painful truth about our people in this country. we need to start valuing presentation, and that begins with language. we can't continue to think it's cool to essentially not speak english, and that's what millions of black americans are doing. they're not speaking proper english at all.

Op has a point...one of the reasons why most people don't find black women attractive is they way most of them talk.

Every race/ethnicity has their own form of slang/jargon, but yet it's only a problem for Blacks :mindblown:

we have to do 200% when everyone else has to do 100%. we always have to work 10x harder. that's life in america. and that means we need to start speaking proper english at all times so that they cannot hold it against us. i am incredibly articulate in public. i have whites going :leon: and i'm proud of it.

and, honestly, it helps me. not to come across as a c00n who's :stylin: for whites, but white people treat me differently because of my articulacy. i can feel it. they're fascinated by me, and it helps me in my relationships with them.

I think it only becomes a problem when people don't know how to turn it off. As long as you know where and when to use ebonics you're okay. These days it sounds so stupid to me though.
This. There's a time and place for everything

What's the point of speaking ebonics to/around people that can't even understand it anyway :what:

Thank you for creating another thread where you prove to the coli that you are totally clueless about the plight of oppression on the black masses and you hate your own people. An easy one star and a :snoop:to your parents for wasting that fukk session that created you.

why even use it at all? why not speak proper english at all times? especially around our own people? to use ebonics, in my eyes, signifies laziness. in fact, i'd argue, it encourages laziness. it makes it acceptable. and we can't afford that, with the obstacles we face in this society.
