Because they basically did jack the south's style. Lil Durk, Lil Bibby, Lil Herb, and Chief Keef basically sound like southern rappers. nikkas in the Chi weren't rapping like that in the 90s. Chicago was either rapping like east coast nikkas (Common, Kanye, Bump-J, Rhymefest, The Grind Family, Lupe Fiasco) or they were all rapping fast like Bone (Twista, Do Or Die, Da Brat, Crucial Conflict, Infamous Syndacite (Shawnna), PsychoDrama, and Tha Snypaz).
