how is this a step backwards? :what:

not a fan of ebro, but this is a good look for him. he gets more exposure, builds more fans, and continues to be a polarizing figure that generates controversy. becoming just a faceless and easily replaceable program director would have been a far worse move.
:dahell::what::mindblown: how is this a step backwards?

i'll put it to you this way. who the fucc willingly goes from store manager to senior sales assistant and then considers that a come up? :what:

ALL RADIO PERSONALITIES WORTH THEIR SH1T ARE TRYING TO/WOULD WANT TO BECOME PD

pd = position of power and telling people how its going down

rp = position of non power and being told whats gonna happen

anyway, what happened to the grand plan and intricate mindgames ebro was 'skooling' buckshot on? :russ:...........if only buckshot had waited a few weeks :to:

thats what Im thinking..

But is Power 105 winning the war at this point?

The war is over long ago... i dont think they are even in the top 10 most popular radio stations in nyc anymore...
hot 97 at this point is battling itself, a couple more years on this course and their will probably be a format change

But both Hot and Power are not in the top 10.

HOT or Power don't have to be in the top 10 most popular radio stations (aka the 12+ ratings that are released to the public) to be successful. When the culture hit its last commercial peak in the late 90s-early 00s--and most importantly years before ratings measurement changed--HOT used to come in #1 12+ all the time. The music and the culture was just that good and profitable.

But in reality, all they care about is being #1 among persons aged 18-34. HOT usually comes in no less than #3 18-34, but as of late they've dropped to as low as #5 in the demo, which is really unacceptable. On the other hand, Power's usually #3 or sometimes under HOT, but recently they've come in at #2. If you wanna know who's been #1 for the better half of the last decade, it's Z100.

Thanks for the actual science... i really aint up on the facts like that and appreciate the knowledge drop. Even from an inexperienced perspective though, it aint rocket science. Hot 97 lost a lot of popularity long ago, a lot of which can just be attributed to changing times and new generations of music listeners. But when your well established radio station and an new unknown competitor with a similar format comes in and takes your spot while you continue to have a slow consistent unimproving slide for years it aint surprising that the program director is going to get cut.
