Look at the charts on unemployment. Almost a steady decline since 2010. But somehow the presence of Trump just willed the economy to magically get better even before he pushed a single economy policy that would affect unemployment.

Corporates already had record amounts of cash on their balance sheets prior to the tax cut. Giving them more is only going to increase buybacks and dividends. It did nothing to solve ongoing underinvestment.
