Eddie Guerrero: 20 Years Later.

love rewatching Eddie’s matches with Jericho, Rey, Angle, RVD, Brock — and that random banger he had with The Rock on RAW — but the one I weirdly go back to the most is his match with JBL at Judgment Day ‘04.

It had everything: Eddie’s speed and ring IQ, JBL being a full-on menace, wild brawling, and that chaotic DQ finish where Eddie kept the belt but still beat the hell out of him anyway. The shot of him standing there absolutely drenched in blood after an insane blade job is one of those wrestling images you don’t forget.

Are there better Eddie matches and feuds to revisit? Yes. But I always gravitate to that match for some odd reason.

One of my favorite matches of all time. An all time classic but not for a move for move reason. I know people get weird about blood in wrestling but the story these guys told over their feud.....that blood was EARNED! 100 one of the most awesome inspiring performances I've ever seen.

I legit get teary eyed thinking about Eddie getting beaten down by JBL before "Heating Up!" and no selling while starting to dance. Like no matter what JBL did and no matter how much blood Eddie was losing, he was not gonna let JBL take a God damned thing from him. And when Eddie fully started shaking the maracas! Woo!

One of the GOATs, a favorite of mine held shyt down along with a few other greats on Smackdown putting out classic material on the regular in the early-mid 2000s. I remember watching his last match against Mr. Kennedy on Smackdown and being in utter disbelief he passed a couple days later. RIP Eddie.
