Which made Hip Hop even worse….
On the bright side, u still hear most Bad Boy songs on the radio during a throwback mix.

Im glad that Cash Money came through and made it cool to wear White Tees which repped the hood.

U didn’t see DMX rocking a suit like that either

This was all during Hip Hop's golden era though, lol.

'91-'98 was when the culture and the music was really at its best. Puff and Bad Boy didn't f*ck anything up. To be honest, people were just bitter and jealous of the coverage and success they had. But we had a ridiculous amount of classic sh*t dropping at that time. Especially in the underground. So for most of us back then, what Puff and them were doing didn't affect much because we were eating so nicely with the million other dope projects that were dropping.

The issue with Hip Hop though, is that it's a very envious culture. And there are a lot of artists and even fans who hate to see certain people winning. And Bad Boy's success made a lot of the less successful people mad, even though we were all sitting on so much good music at the time from other MC's. I always found that weird. Puff's lane didn't have anything to do with all the other lanes that popped back then. There was way too much dope sh*t going on during that era to be worried about Puff sampling David Bowie, lol.
