The agency I work for (in WI) is doing the exact same thing.

Qualified college educated teachers are quitting en masse and the agency is using the pathways program to fill the slots. Bringing adult out of HS, older gentlemen, you name it; train them for 2 months for a certificate and off they go in a classroom.

And yea @DEAD7 there's no union in my agency and there's been a teacher shortage every year. Raised the minimum wage for them to 15 last year at an attempt to keep staff... it hasn't worked.

Vice did a doc about the teacher shortage. We’ve been filling the gaps by outsourcing the jobs to Filipina immigrants which I am fine with. Someone has to do the job.

The Rucker
Abolish the teachers union and allow supply and demand to do what it does.
:hubie:

Outside of that there’s no realistic solution for that state.

:gucci:

How is getting rid of the teachers union going to help with a teacher shortage? You are really an idiot. Came in here to talk shyt about unions when you know damn well this has nothing to do with unions. You are trash

I don't see that as a bad thing; a lot of jobs shouldn't require a college education, but it's allowed because of the money-hungry system. Hopefully, this will cross over to other industries besides accounting because I don't want my future degree to go to waste.

Further erosion of the public education system. And yet we have to sit back and watch it happen for the most part. Future generations are looking at some scary times in this country, if we continue at this rate.

Trust me, this isn't to help the average person, it's just making public schools less and less competitive so that people start to question the need for them, when that voice becomes overwhelming, further defunding will follow.

A lot of these jobs if we are being honest don’t require college. I can agree some subjects should or have a Careers worth of experience. But all of this masters preferred for entry level positions is out of pocket.

A lot of jobs should be skills experience based. After that academics/certifications etc.

How in the fukk you ask for possible alternatives then nikkas give you options n you get sassy talkin bout I SAIIIIIDDDDD THEY AIN'T DOING THAT

If you know this just what is is why even ask the question? Capitalism as a whole needs to be revolutionized (if not completely discarded in lieu of something else), and this is just one example as to why.
Ever heard of rhetorical?
