Eddie Edwards is hospitalized following an unfortunate accident at tonight's Impact Wrestling television tapings in Orlando, Florida.

Edwards defeated Sami Callihan in a singles match at the taping and was being attacked by his opponent after the match. Callihan placed a steel chair across Edwards' head and blasted it with a baseball bat, however the bat ricocheted off of the chair and nailed Edwards on the top of his head.

Edwards reportedly returned to the backstage area with a lot of blood flowing from his head, and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. We will update you on his condition as soon as additional information becomes available.

Update:

As noted, Eddie Edwards was rushed to the emergency room following a bad accident with a baseball bat during an angle at Saturday night's Impact Wrestling television tapings in Orlando, Florida.

Edwards was struck by a baseball bat by Sami Callihan and there was apparently a lot of blood shed, as well as concerns that he might be in danger of losing his eye as a result of the accident.

In an update, Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net is reporting that Edwards suffered a broken nose, a broken facial bone and several bad lacerations as a result of the incident. Doctors are reportedly under the impression that he did not suffer a concussion.

As previously reported, Eddie Edwards was injured at yesterday’s Impact Wrestling TV tapings in Orlando, Florida yesterday and was later sent to the hospital. Eddie Edwards shared an update on his Twitter account earlier today, updating fans on his condition. You can see that tweet below.

According to Edwards, he’s suffering from a “couple broken bones couple cuts and a sweet black eye.” He added, “Somedays you’re the bat, somedays you’re my eye.” Additionally, PWInsider reports that Edwards underwent a CT scan and was diagnosed with several broken bones in his face and also had a broken nose. His cuts were also reportedly glued shut.

Thanks to everyone checkin in. Im good, couple broken bones couple cuts and a sweet black eye. Somedays youre the bat, somedays youre my eye

I've tried to imagine it, how do you try to hit a hand and then it ricochets over to your face when you are lying down and your hand is wedged in a chair lol?

It wasn't his hand, it was his head. He was basically taking a Baseball Bat to the dome, but the chair would "cushion" the blow.

You know, when I saw that Sami Callihan was the culprit, I just went to myself, "yes, he definitely would be the guy to do a spot that might blind somebody by mistake in front of 300 people." Even though I like the guy (Ohio represent!), that just sounds like the type of idiotic spot he would do.

Remember, this is the same guy that damn near broke a dude's neck with a sloppy piledriver his first night in Impact.
