Gentlemen,

It was my intent to run this by you all for final input, but time was of the essence and I had to move quickly.

I hope you enjoy next year's new playoff format, as well as tonight's NBA Draft.

Thank you,
Adam Silver

How about just seeding the top 16 teams for the playoffs

I think its more disgusting that sub .500 teams make the playoffs in the east while better teams in the west are at home watching

Can't the league just swap eastern and western conference teams?

Why even have divisions, just face each team twice one at home and one away. I know it would be less games, but at least it would be fair.
It's really not a big story, getting rid of conference seeding would be :yeshrug:

Yep I have argued about this with people and real life but I guess everyone is still living in 1985.

That would've been a logistical nightmare for some potential series and wouldn't have neccesarily made for better basketball.

GS vs. BK (1 vs. 16)
ATL vs. BOS (2 vs. 15)
HOU vs. MIL (3 vs. 14) :camby:
LAC vs. NO (4 vs 13)
MEM vs. WAS (5 vs 12)
SA vs. DAL (6 vs 11)
CLE vs. TOR (7 vs 10)
POR vs. CHI (8 vs 9)

2 of these matchups are horrible & 4 could've happened in the current conference alignment. Is it really worth it to completely eliminate the conference seeding structure for this set up? I don't think so

There are 30 teams in the league.
2x through every team would be 58 games, or 24 less than they are currently playing.
Why would the league elimiante that much revenue?
That plan would never work.

Portland v. Miami would be a killer.
