Wade past his prime but still got enough for Bron to rely on him when needed, so it's a win-win. And both saw that they didn't win shyt on their own (Bron in Cleveland, Wade post-Shaq). If you look at your list all those ego issues came when players were really young and didn't experience their limitations solo yet. Here Wade already had a title and Bron his MVPs. Bosh just happy to be playing meaningful games and can now flex some on national TV. The rest are role players smart enough to recognize their role, Allen a veteran, Haslem too.

Outside of shaq and kobe, all of the aforementioned parings you listed were made up of young players who were either rookies, or had a year or two under their belt, and consequently were wildly immature. The Heat union was made up of mature veterans.

If Kobe and Shaq aka the new Mike and the new Wilt and the greatest inside/outside combo ever etc. had managed to score 72 combined pts (which is more than feasible for those two) they would have won that game. If Kobe and Shaq could have put their high school girlesque rivalry aside they could have beat those Pistons or at the very least put up a better fight. Shaq shot 63% and feasted against single coverage. Kobe attempted 29 more shots (6 more per game) while shooting 38% and being hounded by the ATG Pistons D. But yeah blame the role players.

I think there were some ego/pride issues early on. Wade's even alluded to it in some discussions about how there are nights he wished he was taking more shots, ultimately they realize they've got the best chance to keep winning by sacrificing and playing together.
