there pairing it with the biggest most influential black based culture(s). Thats more in step with there influencesmy only issue with the exhibit is the absence of music from the most direct descendants of the Egyptians. Rather than pairing it with music from Rihanna or miles Davis, it would make more sense to pair it with the music from groups like the black people still living in southern egypt in 2023, or music of the descendants of the Nubians in Sudan, or even the music of the various Nilotic ethnic groups that still live on the banks of the river Nile from Alexandria all the way down to Lake Victoria.
Pairing the Egyptian concepts with west African or new world daisporic music would be like me opening an exhibit in newyork, that honors the Chinese folkhero, Mulan, but pairing it with korean kpop music. There is a clear disconnect here.
