I answered the question thoroughly. It was asked by a person who doesn't have children so she doesn't understand how children learn basic things. Realizing that you have differences to others is something children learn very young. Any parent worth a damn knows this to be true.

Everyone who Cosign it probably don't have children or are not in their children's life on a steady basis. Children are naturally curious, barge into bathrooms and rooms when parents are nude/changing/showering. If you ask your parents I guarantee you were very likely to have done the same thing.

Her point about the mutilation stands as something I agree with I just don't understand what the first part has to do with the second.

my assumption would be it was asked to show that the people that are actually around this family, mom/dad doctor etc wont though, not the posters on here. of course children do things like imitate but instead of getting to that issue they would rather just stick hormones in the child causing who knows what else types of psychological issues.

Good fukking lord. I actually don't have a problem with the transgender community, but this is so asinine it's unreal. While living with lesbian parents on its own may not present this kind of issue, you'd have to be willfully ignorant of the possibility that these women were indoctrinating him with the whole "gender is only a social construct" thing his whole life up until this point, maybe even teaching their son to hate the male gender by throwing around sexist terms like "toxic masculinity" and "patriarchy." I remember my women's studies professor in college had a son that just so "happened to love wearing dresses and dancing to Shakira all the time" instead of doing things that boys traditionally like to do. I couldn't help but think of what a convenient fukking thing it was for her to have a kid like this.

The problem is that whatever you learn, your own preferences and self-identity aren't going to be changed if you don't already have the potential for that to happen. One of the first things this kid said to his parents after he first began communicate is that he felt like a girl- it's simply impossible that cultural influence caused that since he barely knew language by that point, meaning he wasn't absorbing complex social critiques or ideologies. It's also consistent with findings of transgender people that many of them feel like the opposite sex by the age of 4-5. If anything, this is proof of the biological element to all this.

I never threatened mutilation on myself. Most children don't, even with exhibiting so-called "tomboyish" for girls or "sissy" behaviors for boys. You don't see any glaring red flags in that?

Transgenders are 25 times (not 25%, 25 times... that's huge) more likely than the average person to attempt suicide. That means extreme behavior is strongly correlated with GID, so the immediate assumption that there is something more than GID at work has to be supported by investigation. It's more than possible for gender identity issues to cause that kind of behavior on their own, especially when you combine it with the findings that many trans people know they feel like the opposite sex as early as 4 or 5 years old.

I merely said you questioning how a child learns that penis is associated with gender can happen is a naive question. Mutilation was always a big part of my point. To know the difference and say I want to become like a girl is one thing, to learn the difference and say I want to sever my penis to become a girl is entirely different. That's all I'm saying. EDIT: I think some of you are confusing my point with others. I am NOT saying these women have a hatred for masculinity (I don't see any evidence of that or even any way you could deduct that from the given info) and taught their son to hate his penis.

on the one hand, i am sympathetic to the situation if it really is as described...on the other hand i must admit that i became kinda suspicious of these two moms. i would be lying if i said i didnt get a feeling that they might be radical lesbian/millitant feminists or something, but there's no evidence to doubt them

if he really was threatening to castrate himself, then i dont have any problem with the parents going along with whatever a doctor suggests. i cant think of any alternative that would prevent a mentally unstable boy from doing something gruesome to himself. ultimately, parents are legally responsible for what happens to their kids if it springs from a lack of action on mental health issues. dissociative disorders involve all kinds of body parts. i read about a man who felt his leg was alien, and he kept begging doctors to cut it off, he even tried to sneak into a hospital and use their tools on himself (he got caught before he could do any damage) but later he found some black market doctor to cut it off for cash and he's happy now.
