They're shutting down this camp.

That's weird, I heard no one on Earth cares about this issue and that if you care you're gay.
Not that . Black people care too much about others but do they care for us? Will you find a trayvon thread on the brown pride forum? Or any black kid getting killed by the police? Usually it's :hubie:

This is their battle. Not ours. We have our own shyt we're going through. If they want support perhaps they should show us some ? And since they don't, HYON

These policies affect black people as well and they're just another extension of white supremacist policy.

It's not about uplifting Mexicans as much as it is about rejecting white supremacist policy full stop.

the ether
would you stop deflecting to mar a lago :mjlol:

if they can't sit behind a chain link fence for a couple days, then maybe they should reconsider coming here in the first place and clearly they aren't, so you tell me why this is something that really needs to be addressed

It's not "deflecting", it's an easy example of how much extra fat there is in the system. It's idiocy to claim that our lack of funding keeps us from acting like humane people when we basically shyt hundred dollar bills into furnaces left and right.

And I think inhumane bullshyt should be addressed. :yeshrug:

You're basically saying that people who are vulnerable enough or desperate enough are willing to put up with further dehumanization, so who gives a fukk about them? :mindblown:

Like that thread about African migrants getting raped in transit. "Oh well, they know going in that rape is basically an inevitability, if they decide to flee their war-torn country anyway then rape must not really be that bad, why try to stop it?"

The supreme court ruled otherwise.

What constitutional rights do undocumented immigrants have?

To answer those questions, we must start with a more basic question–does the U.S. Constitution apply to undocumented immigrants?

“Yes, without question,” said Cristina Rodriguez, a professor at Yale Law School. “Most of the provisions of the Constitution apply on the basis of personhood and jurisdiction in the United States.”

Many parts of the Constitution use the term “people” or “person” rather than “citizen.” Rodriguez said those laws apply to everyone physically on U.S. soil, whether or not they are a citizen.

As a result, many of the basic rights, such as the freedom of religion and speech, the right to due process and equal protection under the law apply to citizens and noncitizens. How those rights play out in practice is more complex.

Specific to due process:

Right to due process
What the law says: The Fifth Amendment states that “no person … shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”

The issue of due process is at the heart of many immigration cases, including Reno v. Flores, the 1993 Supreme Court case that has returned to the spotlight with the surge in family separations. The case led to an agreement requiring the government to release children to their parents, a relative or a licensed program within 20 days.

In the ruling, Justice Antonin Scalia wrote “it is well established that the Fifth Amendment entitles aliens to due process of law in deportation proceedings.”

These issues are not very different than what black american citizens deal with when they are denied due process. If you'd like an example I can easily refer to Riker's Island.
