I haven't watched any media for this besides a few trailers. Is this really that different from Demon's Souls or Bloodborne? I only saw a few clips of gameplay and it looks no different from those games. Asking because I haven't finished Bloodborne or Demon's Souls and wondering if it's better to just finish those and then play this later.
This is the one

Are the frame rate issues that bad on the PC? I can’t imagine getting finessed out of a boss fight from a frame rate drop. That shyt would make me toss my controller. :pachaha:
The framerate dips are more gruesome than some of the boss fights :mjcry:

Def cost me mad runes at this point. Major culprits being Margit and the tree sentinel. I sometimes play on my steam link so I can play on a tv away from my desktop so there's the framerate dips AND the steam connection dips :damn:

I don't play any Souls shyt and this has me hooked. If they could have gotten Bluepoint to do the graphics or something this might've been the GOAT GOAT.

This is literally all I want in an open world joint. Free exploration, no hand holding, and tough but fair combat mechanics.

Previous Souls game just didn't interest me because of how enclosed it seemed. But this is exactly playing out like a dark fantasy simulator. If I turned the music off I'd be even more immersed.

I still got the beginner weapons and no magic so I've just been honing my skills for the short time I've played. Finally beat the tarnished invader.

The core gameplay is the same as those games but this is open world so the pacing and overall structure is different. No reason to finish those before this if you don't want to.

I got the grafted blade greatsword and the golden spear which one should I invest in?

I I have 20 strength and 8 faith. I can work on 7 points into faith to dual hand the spear or put 8 into strength to dual wield greatsword.

I'm thinking spear since it has holy damage so I can kill skeletons but greatsword is a legendary so I'm sure it will wreck.

The dope thing about elden ring is you still get those self contained interconnected levels in the big open world.

The big dungeons are some of the best they’ve made

this is something Nintendo could learn from with BoTW. Where they pretty much bushed classic Zelda dungeons in favor of the open world.

To be honest it’s the same shyt.

The open world just ads more options/nonlinearity to your progression.

If you get stuck, you can walk away and do lots of other shyt. But ultimately the gameplay is about what you’d expect.
