Why is everyone acting like this game looks bad? Ofc it’s not going to look as good as Horizon, that game series is one of the best looking of all time, but the graphics are really good in this game, really good lighting and textures.
From a technical perspective, the game is rough looking. It looks maybe slightly better graphically than DS3 which is a 2015 game. Then there is the actual performance shyt, like the constant pop-in, unstable framerates, some out of date UI design, low LoD etc.
On the other hand, Fromsoft art direction carries the game. its one of the best-looking open world games I’ve ever played just design wise. It makes every other fantasy-rpg game look bland as hell in comparison. I could never go back to playing something like witcher and skyrim after this and look at it the same. Fromsoft are just on a different level when it comes to crafting their own worlds and characters.
I do hope that their next game can match their design sense with graphical fidelity like Demon’s Souls.
I’m still not sure how they plan on implementing ray tracing into this game in the state its in now and probably will be for the foreseeable future
